Our first desk lights were designed by George Cawardine in 1932. He was in need of a lighting solution for his workforce, which at the time was working on small, intricate components for automobile suspension systems. Cawardine’s inspiration was the natural shape and function of the human arm which led to a system of perpetual tension from a series of springs resulting in pristine illumination.
The overall result was perfection – desk lighting with minimal fuss. The overall design was so revolutionary for its time that Cawardine quickly found himself designing lighting solutions for all venues. Stylish, sleek, and well-designed our desk lighting has an excellent foundation.
Since those early days, we’ve employed many guest designers to add their point of view and expertise resulting in a vast selection of desk lighting solutions.
